CESAR has continued to forge strong links with industry through continued collaborations, participation in funding initiatives and partnerships. This has been strengthened through involvement in part of the GRDC’s National Invertebrate Pest Initiative (NIPI) that is led by CSIRO Entomology. NIPI has been established to improve pest entomological research and extension into the grains industry, drawing together national expertise to generate synergistic outcomes which can be applied to current and emerging pest problems.

Paul Umina, a Research/Extension officer with CESAR, is responsible for the delivery of a range of extension and communication activities through NIPI. This involves linkages with state government agencies, agronomists, private agribusiness and grower groups.
